Project Overview
Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’ / Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations (KCFN) is continuing to build their foundation for a data governance approach grounded in Nation values and the needs of modern treaty governance.
The project includes developing data governance documents, updating well-being indicators, and piloting privacy classifications, and forming a Data Governance Working Group.
This work will improve the structures and practices in place for how data is used, stewarded, and protected, across government.
"The ways in which we can collect, analyze, and store data have expanded greatly with the advance of computer technology, but the role of data has not changed. Data tells a story. ... KCFN's data governance project can be part of telling KCFN's story."
